Stars, Sunsets, and Serenity
We spent a few nights Runaway Bay Lodge in between visiting family in Florida. We received a warm welcome, from Kennedy and Christina, we were served amazing food, and enjoyed getting to know the other guests while listening to a soulful playlist, and dancing under the stars with new friends. We stayed in the One Love Yurt, right on the dock overlooking the lake. It was comfortable and private. The sunset over the lake was stunning and the night sky was breathtaking. We spent the day exploring the nearby Springs and snorkeling. This was exactly the rest stop we needed between visits. If you enjoy old Florida Oaks, Lake views, and chilling on the dock, this is your place.

Michele P. Recommends The Ataraxia Cabin· I don’t know where to begin with this review! Perhaps how easy Kennedy made even before we checked in? He upgraded us to the bigger cabin (thank you) so we could sit on the screened porch w our dog. Or how he accommodated us with our dinner the night of check in (Friday during lent, no meat) it’s difficult to begin to say how amazing our stay was! Our cabin was absolutely perfect! From the cute front door, the patio to the bed which I slept remarkably well on! Breakfast in the morning on our screened in patio was also amazing! Drinking our coffee overlooking the lake with our dog by our side. Just a beautiful experience! The close proximity to the nature conservation. Area was close enough for me to walk (and then walk about and sit in the hot tub!) my husband attacked the trails on his dirt bike (also nice and close) And the massage was out of this world! We had an absolutely stellar vaca at our home away from home! I was finally able to relax, read a book & stare endlessly at the lake! Couldn’t have asked for better weekend retreat!

This was the perfect solo getaway

Ohm Sweet Ohm was a delightful yurt equipped with heater, a/c, a lamp & extra outlets for phone charging. There were plenty of towels, blankets & pillows as well. The bed was super comfy. There were so many thoughtful places to sit and soak in the nature. I loved the outdoor shower with plenty of hot water & the rain shower head. Kennedy and Christina are very friendly & hospitable but also allowed me to have quiet time alone. The sun deck was a nature theater each day. The birds seemed to play musical chairs on the old pylons. I watched a baby alligator, many fish jumping, two playful otters, beautiful skylines and a cute little snake relaxing on a distant dock. Every space was inviting & well thought out. I plan to return & try the Waterfront Teepee in a few weeks.

Tiffany says: The peace… the absolute utter peace I had from my long weekend with my husband and doggie. Kennedy was so loving and supportive. I just lost my job and had booked before hand. Most memorable weekend of my life so far....
Kennedy and Christina are one of the most amazing couples I ever meet. Beautiful place, amazing vibes. They are great hosts, Christina is an amazing chef. We loved everything about this place and them. They created a beautiful set up that my boyfriend got inspired to propose me. Thank you so much for the most amazing weekend. The Lodge at Runaway Bay is a little hippie village with a peaceful, island vibe with an energy that you can sense as soon as you pass the bamboo fence into the courtyard. Not only is the area filled with an abundance of wildlife and nature, but the natural energy that is present in the elements of wind in the air, water and waves, Sunshine, Moonsets and Star light helps to balance your energy to promote deep relaxation, rest and rejuvenation.
If you found yourself here looking for a place to give your soul some rest, please don't hesitate to follow your intuition. The Lodge at Runaway Bay is not for everyone.
